Whistling Woods International is a unique educational institution. Located on 20 acres of land in the heart of Mumbai's Film City, the institute is the only film school in the world with a private campus inside a major studio complex. This location (and the thousands of directors, producers, actors and technicians that work here daily) provides a level of industry interface that most film students only dream about. The courses that Whistling Woods International offers will help you find your own creative voice while professionally developing your technical and analytical skills. These courses are two years of intensive hard work; to succeed, you will require initiative and dedication. In return, we will provide you with world-class technology and infrastructure and faculty from around the globe.

At the end of this two-year programme, you will be prepared to enter the media industry. This is an industry that is booming, with growth outpacing that of India's GDP. Our Career Management Unit operates full-time to locate internships and placements for Whistling Woods students, as well as promoting their work through Indian and international film festivals and competitions.

Meghna Ghai-Puri - President, Whistling Woods International
Meghna Puri Meghna Ghai-Puri, 29, is the President, Whistling Woods International Film Television, Animation & Media Arts.

With an advanced diploma in Communications, Advertising and Marketing and a BSc Honors degree in Business Management from Kings College, University of London, Meghna Ghai Puri.

From 2001 to 2006 Meghna was instrumental in shaping the foundation of Whistling Woods International, on the Business Development & International Alliances front, as Director, Business Development, Mukta Arts Ltd.

She had been earlier associated with a UK based e-tailer for music and films from the Indian Subcontinent- as an Affiliate Marketing Manager which brought forward her acumen in marketing garnered through her stint with Mukta Arts Ltd. as Marketing Manager. She has been associated with key businesses in the Indian entertainment industry through prominent projects such as Cinema 100 (Organized by the NFDC, India). She has also been involved in International sales and film festivals in the U.S. and Europe.

For the last two years as President of Whistling Woods International, Meghna has overseen the setting up, establishing and operations of Asia's largest Institute for Film, Television, Animation & Media Arts. It is her constant endeavor to pertinently contribute towards the Indian entertainment industry through the training of talent in order to achieve global creative excellence.

John J. Lee, Author, teacher, global media and entertainment executive, director, producer, screenwriter, and currently the Dean at Whistling Woods International, John J Lee is a man of many accomplishments.

His book, "The Producer's Business Handbook" is used by film schools the world over and is a standard professional media reference. During his twenty-seven years as an entertainment and media executive, John successfully led the vision, launch and / or expansion of several entertainment and media entities and provided business, funding and distribution services for scores of major studio released motion pictures, television network series and specials, with combined production costs of over $470 million and global rights earnings exceeding $4 billion.

In 1999 John founded Entertainment Business Group and served as CEO, providing motion picture global finance, distribution and business services to clients, until its acquisition by The Gillen Group. In 2004, John became the co-founder and CEO of iCommunication Dynamics, LLC, an Internet television technology entity.

In 1994 John took 14 months off to complete his first novel, while continuing to advise his media clients. In 1996, he accepted a full time faculty position at BYU Film School, where he initiated the Business of Film curriculum, established a highly successful intern and graduate career placement program and authored "The Producer's Handbook", currently in its second edition.

Mr. Lee has been associated with a lot of Hollywood movies like Splash, Forever Strong, The Rising, The Terminator, The Wildman, The Prayer of Jabez, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius, etc. in various roles like Co-Executive Producer, screenwriter acquisition, Business development and special effects, International Sales, etc.

John acquired an honorary Master's of Fine Arts Degree from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. In 1975, he founded The San Diego Repertory Theatre that became and continues to be one of the San Diego's premiere theatre companies. John executive produced his first motion picture in 1976 and in 1977 began his entertainment business career, first as Business Affairs VP for global sales company Howard Goldfarb Distribution and subsequently for Heart Entertainment, where he had the opportunity to provide motion picture finance and global distribution services for scores of motion pictures. John led multiple new media companies including the direct broadcast satellite entity Impression Delivery Corporation (acquired by CapCities) and Times Mirror Cable Television (acquired by Cox Communications).
