MBA M&E - India's first Management Programme in Media & Entertainment
 

28th July 2009 was a historic day for Whistling Woods International (WWI) Film, Television & Media Institute in Mumbai when it launched a new course for all MBA students to avail the opportunity of gaining hands-on knowledge of the media industry from the best of faculty and professionals.  An MBA course designed and developed jointly by WWI and Manipal University, had introduced India's first MBA (M&E) degree course in media & entertainment last year.

'With the dynamic growth of the media & entertainment Industry ? this is the biggest need of the hour. Congratulations to Mr. Ghai for taking this historic step and also Mr. Anand Sudarshan from Manipal University for creating this wonderful bridge between MBA and Media'' said Ronnie Screwvala.

The two-year MBA (M&E) program has management level specialization in Film and Broadcasting. As per the course design, first year of the program is conducted at the Manipal University campus in Bangalore, which comprises of general management subjects. The final year of the program involves 'Hands on' training at Whistling Woods International, Filmcity, Mumbai

Amit Khanna, CEO, Reliance Entertainment applauded Whistling Woods and Manipal for this unique venture n Education and assured a great career ahead for students here of the course.

Manmohan Shetty, Harish Dayani and filmmakers John Mathew Matham, Ketan Mehta, Sunil Darshan were the other distinguished guests to participate in the inaugural ceremony at the Whistling Woods campus Welcoming the first batch of 50 students from Manipal University Mr. Subhash Ghai, Founder and Chairman, WWI said, 'This is a momentous period for WWI to welcome the first batch of management students into WWI campus. We are proud to be associated with the Manipal University who believed in our vision to provide a professional management course in media and entertainment. With this we have moved one step forward towards the true meaning and value of Industrialization of Indian cinema.

Whistling Woods International has recently set-up a campus in Spain. The course would be Two year Diploma in Film making at Cidad de la Luz (city oflight) Film school at Alicante Spain, promoted by the Valencian Provincial govt. of Spain.
