Less than a year after Mukta Arts Ltd, the parent company of Whistling Woods International (WWI), and the Provincial Government of Valencia, Spain signed an agreement to set up a campus of WWI in Alicante, Spain, WWI is making its presence felt in sunny Bermuda. It was a historic moment when the Bermuda Prime Minister, Dr. Ewart F Brown visited WWI in February 2010, and signed an MOU with Mr. Subhash Ghai, Chairman and Founder, WWI, "to foster the growth of film education in Bermuda. Also, as per the MOU, "WWI and Mukta Arts Ltd. will recommend Bermuda to the Indian entertainment industry." In Mr. Ghai's words, "Whistling Woods International is now truly international, and with this (agreement) we expect a lot of "Bollywood' shoots to happen in Bermuda." In the first week of May 2010, Umesh Gupta, (V P, Academics at WWI) and Chaitanya Chinchlikar (V P, Business Development at WWI) visited Bermuda. A presentation was made at Bermuda College on the potential and opportunities for young students from Bermuda to be trained at the WWI campus which, in the Bermudian Premier's words, "had state-of-the-art-facilities, to enable them to study and perfect their craft among an International student body." Umesh Gupta believes that "The relationship started with Bermuda is not just the beginning of a new academic course but more importantly, the beginning of an enterprise for Bermuda. Following the presentation, there has been a virtual flow of firm applications from young Bermudians for joining the two year filmmaking program at WWI. Our initiatives will help Bermuda form an industry in Media and Entertainment." Meanwhile, Admissions are open for the July intake of WWI's 2-year program and other courses, namely, Online Screenwriting and The Short Course Unit.
