WWI and MPower Collaborate to Raise Awareness for Suicide Prevention through Unique Street Play Performance
World Suicide Prevention Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention and helping to eliminate the taboos surrounding it. To mark this special day, WWI and MPower collaborated to curate a unique street play performed by WWI students of Actor’s Studio and School of Music on 10th September 2022 on campus and at the Churchgate Station, Mumbai. WWI students from the Actors’ Studio poured their soul into the performance to raise awareness about the stigmatised topic of suicide prevention. The play explained various facets of acts of suicide, prevention and its impact on youth and people around. Through this play, we aim to encourage people to seek help when needed and not to shy away. The songs performed by music students carried melodies of hope.
Mpower is a mental health care initiative which aims to create an ecosystem where people receive support from mental health professionals without facing discrimination.
