Sanil Akerkar

Sanil completed his Diploma in Acting from Whistling Woods International.

Sanil, born in Mumbai, spent his formative years between Mumbai and Pune. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the Symbiosis Centre of Media and Communication in Pune, specializing in Audio-Visual Production and Filmmaking. Later, he earned a Diploma in Acting from Whistling Woods International. In his professional journey, Sanil has worn multiple hats, excelling as a Voice-over artist, creative producer, and editor, all while passionately dedicating himself to acting.

Work Experience

Sanil has acted in 25 short films, such as 'Ankahe Khwaab' currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, as lead and primary cast.

Sanil has acted in 6 professional plays namely- 'Shakespeare's Twelfth Night'; performed at the esteemed Royal Opera House in Mumbai; 'Court Martial'; 'Bade Miyaan Deewane'; 'Andha Kuan'; 'Shots of Imaandari' and 'Humne Kuch Nahi Kiya'. Along with this, he also acted as a child artist in Ekjute Theatre Group's 'JungleDhoom.com' and 'Bachche Hai Par Kachche Nahi' directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar.

He is also a Voice-Artist having featured in many web-series, such as 'Class' and 'Guns and Gulaabs' to name a few. He has worked on TV Series - animated and documentaries, such as 'Monster Snakes' on National Geographic, 'Titoo' by Cosmos Maya on Pogo TV, etc. He also done voice-overs for ads having worked with clients like Audible, Amity University, Berger Paints, AU Small Finance Bank to name a few.

Sanil has also trained in professional theatre under Rangshila Theatre Group (Avneesh Mishra).

He has learnt method acting at the Jeff Goldberg Studio and attended workshops by Adishakti Laboratory for Theatre Art Research, The Artist Collective (Atul Mongia) to name a few. He has also done basic training in physical theatre like Commedia dell'arte, Clowning and Natyashastra.
