Confessions of an American Screenwriter: Strategies I’ve learned to be a More Effective Storyteller
The seminar was for the amateurs & professionals. The workshop helped develop and enhance the screenwriting skills, which enabled the attendees to think like a professional creative writer. The workshop also helped to navigate the needs of the business model as one meets the creative needs of the story, guiding one to embrace the structure as a friend, understanding the scene and sequence writing to keep the story moving forward, the pre-eminent importance of theme, creating compelling, nuanced protagonists and antagonists, maintaining the differences between comedy and drama, and the strategies for approaching the same. The session was designed to be an immersive, comprehensive discussion of this world, filtered through an American perspective.
